Colorado ditch companies by county

55 Colorado counties have at least one mutual ditch or reservoir company with a DWR-verified water structure here, and/or at least one company registered in a city located in — or partly in — the county — 642 companies via a verified water structure (the same DWR match set behind the directory and the map) and 905 via a registered address (a separate Secretary of State/crosswalk source, not the map's match set; a company can count toward both). Each county page lists the companies for both relationships, with links back to their full records.

745 of 1,387 census companies aren't on a county page via a verified water structure; 482 aren't via a registered address either — see the breakdown below. DitchBook shows two separately-labeled county relationships here, never blurred together: “operates structures in”, verified from Colorado DWR water-structure records — where a company's structures physically sit — and “registered in <city>”, inferred from the Secretary of State's principal-address city, joined through a Colorado city-to-county crosswalk built from U.S. Census Bureau TIGERweb place-polygon geometry (corroborated by the USGS GNIS Domestic Names extract and the Colorado DOLA Municipal Boundary layer). A city that straddles a county line is listed under every county it touches, not just one — picking a single “primary” county would assert something the record doesn't say — with a note on its row naming every county it spans (for example, a Longmont company appears on both the Boulder and Weld pages). The registered-in relationship isn't available for every company: 461 have no principal address on file with the Secretary of State, 10 list an out-of-state address, and 11 don't join to the current Secretary of State pull at all — none of these are guessed at. Every company is still in the full directory by name and town regardless.
